WOW-31 JULY 2024: CONFRONTING SECULARISM WITH THE GOSPEL (CONT’D)

Senior Pastor Daniel O. C. | Jul 31, 2024

YWCA

Calvary greetings to you in the blessed name of Jesus Christ our Saviour, Amen!

2. REDEMPTION THROUGH THE PRECIOUS BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST

The provision of the gospel. The sinfulness of a secular person is established because he or she rejects Christ’s atonement.
During the time of World War II, vengeance desiring nationals shouted at the departing soldiers and said,
“Give the enemy hell!” but a missionary father shouted back and said, “Give them Christ!”

Beloved saints, this is our duty that we owe to the secular people about Christ and His message of redemption through His precious blood.

We must make the following clear to the people:

Christ’s deity (John 1:1-3 / Hebrews 1:1-3 / Collosians 1:16-17)
His resurrection, glorification and present intercessory ministry (Acts 17:31 / Romans 1:4 / Hebrews 7:25)
His Second Coming as it affects both saints and sinners (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 / Revelation 20:10-15)
Paul’s model message. (Acts 26:18)

3. REPENTANCE TOWARDS GOD (The command of the gospel)

Repentance is a complete turning away from every known sin and making restitution as may be necessary (Isaiah 55:6 / Acts 24:16).
We must emphasise it as God commanded it (Acts 17:30).
Jesus, our Lord insisted on it (Luke 13:13).
Apostle Paul preached it (Acts 20:21).
Repentance results in a change of attitude to spiritual things. Paul the apostle made this clear to King Agrippa and his other hearers.

4. RECEPTION OF CHRIST AS LORD AND SAVIOUR (The gospel’s condition Romans 10:9-10)

To lead the secular people who repents to trust Christ Jesus as their personal Saviour and Lord should be the only aim of the gospel presentation.

The sinner should be urged to:

Come to Christ (Matthew 11:28 / John 10:9)
Believe on Him (Acts 16:31 / John 3:16)
Hear Him (John 5:24)

Receive Him (John 1:12 / Revelation 22:17)
Obey Him (Rom 1:5 / Matt 7:24-27)
Look to Him (Isaiah 45:22)
Trust in Him (Ephesians 1:13)

Jesus must become Lord of all and Lord indeed.
The repenting unbeliever must begin to live as a saint (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

To be continued.

Remain blessed and rapturable,
Yours to reach this generation with the Gospel,

Dr. Daniel O. C.
