WOW – 3 JUNE 2026: THE MISERABLE ATTITUDES
Senior Pastor Daniel O. C. | Jun 03, 2026
Calvary greetings to you in the blessed name of Jesus Christ our Saviour, Amen!
THE MISERABLE ATTITUDES
He who is born of God should grow to resemble his father.
A stranger is one away from home, but a pilgrim is one who is on his way home.
The Christian’s life is the world’s bible. Therefore, a Christian is free but not free to sin.
ISAIAH 47:12-14
It has been the norm of miserable people to turn to the sorcerers, astrologers or stargazers for solutions and answers when misfortune happens. Miserable people will always run to witch doctors, necromancers and fortune-tellers to give them answers to things happening. But the Bible states in Prov 18:10 that the name of the Lord is a strong tower, the righteous run to it and are safe.
ISAIAH 31:1-3
Beloved saints of God listen:
Man’s methods lead to a hopeless end but God’s way lead to an endless hope. Do not put a question mark where God has set a period. God wants His message to change us not we changing His message to suit us. Therefore, if you are suffering from truth decay, I pray, you brush up on your Bible every day.
A. CHARACTERISTICS OF A MISERABLE PERSON
- A miserable person is unhappy, gloomy, dejected, depressed, despondent and sorrowful.
- A miserable Christian manifests the very characteristics that brought the devil down.
- A miserable Christian is full of himself or herself in everything.
- A person is never so empty as when he is full of self (Isaiah 14:13-14).
- A miserable Christian is a backslidden Christian.
- A Christian must not be miserable at all, regardless of what he or she goes through in life.
- A miserable person thinks only about himself or herself (selfishness).
- He or she talks about himself or herself very often (self-centeredness).
- He or she uses the word I, me, my and mine as often as possible (self-pity).
- A miserable person always sees himself or herself in the mirror of other people’s opinion.
- He or she blames others for their irresponsible acts.
- They are full of suspicion, jealousy and envy.
- Miserable people expect to be appreciated but they never appreciate what is done for them.
- They easily resent on others, especially when they feel not being acknowledged or recognized.
- They never forgive or forget the mistakes of others (embittered).
- They do not trust anybody but expect people to trust, respect and give them high consideration.
- Miserable people want everyone to agree to their selfish views and perspective on all issues.
Beloved, seeing yourself as the center of global attention will lead you to grave faster than expected. The real enemy of our Christian faith is “self”. Turn away your thoughts and focus from yourself and turn to God (Jeremiah 48:11-13).
To be continued.
Remain blessed and rapturable,
Yours to reach this generation with the Gospel,
Dr. Daniel O. C.
