THE DECEPTION OF RELIGIOUS ACTIVITY (CONT’D)

BEWARE OF DISOBEDIENCE
“Now go and attack Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and do not spare them.
But kill both man and woman, infant and nursing child, ox and sheep, camel and donkey” (1 Samuel 15:3).

The instruction given to King Saul was sound and clear. But Saul flaunted and disobeyed God outrightly (1 Samuel 15:7-9).
Beloved people of God, there are areas that God Almighty has been speaking to you, what steps have you taken to put things right? Are you ready to obey God’s instructions or have you chosen to cover it up in pretense?

Beloved, the time is up, change now because your cup is getting full.
Stop dragging your feet and wasting your precious time.
If God is God, follow Him wholeheartedly, otherwise make a decision.
Notice that Saul did not obey the Lord. He spared the life of Agag, the king of the Amalekites and took the best of his animals.
God took special interest in this disobedience and spoke to Prophet Samuel about it.

1 Samuel 15:10-11
10 Now the word of the Lord came to Samuel, saying,
11 “I greatly regret that I have set up Saul as king, for he has turned back from following Me, and has not performed My commandments.” And it grieved Samuel, and he cried out to the Lord all night.

This was a very sad night for Samuel the prophet, who loved King Saul very dearly.
Saints of God, Jehovah God has great compassion for us, yet He views obedience greater than sacrifice.
King Saul developed a pattern in his life of ignoring the Lord’s instruction and considering public opinion more vital.

Saul valued political status as more significant than keeping God’s Word.
Saul’s heart grew callous towards the commands of God.
Have you developed a callous heart towards God and His instructions?
Have you allowed your social status to deprive you of your humility?
Have you allowed your work problems and family problems to stop you from serving God whom you claim to love?
Have you refused to come back to God with all your heart? Where is your first love?

The Lord has blessed you with untold blessings, but why do you reject God’s divine appeal to change for good?
