Senior Pastor Daniel O. C. | Aug 12, 2026
Calvary greetings to you in the blessed name of Jesus Christ our Saviour, Amen!
A NON-CONFORMIST CHRISTIAN
You shall not follow a multitude to do evil. Although we are in the world, we are not part of the world.
Therefore, in matters of principle, stand like a rock, in matters of taste, swim with the current.
Romans 12:2-3
A non-conformist believer has a visible and tangible faith.
The word “conform” is from Greek word “suschematizo” meaning to “follow, to toe the line or comply”.
This word “suschematizo” is used only here and in 1 Peter 1:14.
The word, world is the same as age and it is also from Greek word “aion”.
This portion of the Scripture is telling us not to follow the trend of this world.
- We are not to toe the line of this age.
- We are not to behave like the non-Christians in this world.
- We are not to be loose in our talking.
- We are not to be loose in our dressing pattern.
- We are not to be rude or crude to people.
- We must be examples in all our undertakings (1 Timothy 4:12).
Let our life be an exemplary life. Our families be exemplary families.
Our relationship with our spouse and children be exemplary.
In all things that we do or say, Jesus be glorified.
- A non-conformist Christian knows how to intensify in prayer to take what belongs to him/her.
- A non-conformist Christian is a solution and result oriented person.
Non-conformist Christians possesses a different spirit like Caleb and Joshua.
Sometimes, the non-conformists are called radicals or extremists because they whole-heartedly follow the Lord.
(Numbers 14:24 / Numbers 32:12)
THE CONFORMIST CHRISTIANS (Matthew 13:22)
- They dance according to the tune of this age.
- They follow the pattern of this world because they are not fully delivered.
- They are friendly with the world; thereby they become enemies of God. (James 4:4)
- They love this present world and its system, thereby losing the love of God. (1 John 2:15-16)
- Their understanding is not enlightened.
- They are not always in line with God’s word but only obey God at their convenience.
- They are alienated from God because they reject the will of God.
- Their hearts are blinded by deceit (Ephesians 4:18). They sell themselves up to lewdness, greed and uncleanness (Ephesians 4:19).
- They are full of bitterness, hatred, anger, unforgiveness and resentment.
- They conform to immoral behaviour, ungodly and unholy attitudes.
- They are revengeful, repaying evil for evil and always want to be served.
- They can tell lies, manipulate, deceive and hide their evil intentions.
- They use vulgarity on their spouse and family members.
- They beat up their spouse, using physical and mental abuse and also torture their family members.
To be continued.
Remain blessed and rapturable,
Yours to reach this generation with the Gospel,
Dr. Daniel O. C.
