“CHILD OF GOD, ARE YOU USING YOUR TALENT AND SKILL FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD?”
Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:
“However, he returned, having been made king, and sent for the servants to whom he had given the money, to find out what each one had earned in his business dealings” (Luke 19:15).
When he returned after having received the kingdom, he ordered these bond servants to whom he had given the money to be called to him, that he might know how much each one had made by buying and selling.
ESSENCE OF TALENTS AND SKILLS (Exodus 35:30-35 / Matthew 25:14-35)
Talents are the natural power to do something while skill is the acquired ability to do something very well. When we give our lives unto the Lord, we begin to use our talents and skills for the glory of His name.
We are not in our profession by accident. (Acts 15:18) “Known to God from eternity are all His works.” We are in the kingdom of God and in this country at such a time as this for a purpose to reach others with the gospel of Christ.
We can achieve this by effectively using our talents and skills. We must not use our talents and skills for mundane purposes alone.
The two wise of the three servants in the parable of the Lord understood this and diligently used their talents to make profits
(Luke 19:16-18). They were also conscious that they would give account to the Lord.
The same charge did the Lord give unto believers even today when He said, “Occupy till I come.” Let us occupy our talents and skills to teach, preach, write and pass on the gospel message to all.
We should stress, however that successful work for Christ does not depend so much on number of talents and skills. But the successful work for Jesus our Lord depends much on pureness of purpose, simplicity and earnest faith.
Personal effort therefore must be made to reach our community, relatives and loved ones with the gospel of salvation of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
May we use our divinely given skills and talents to spread the gospel for God’s glory in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!
Somebody shout, “SO HELP ME LORD!”
Shalom and good morning.
