WHO ARE YOU RELYING ON?

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we praise the name of Adonai our God. They will crumple and fall, but we will arise and stand erect. Give victory, Adonai! Let the King answer us the day we call.” (Psalm 20:7-9)

Some trust in and boast of chariots and some of horses, but we will trust in and boast of the name of the Lord our God. They are bowed down and fallen, but we are risen and stand upright. O Lord, give victory; let the King answer us when we call.

WHO ARE YOU RELYING ON?
Jeroboam was a servant of Solomon who rebelled against Rehoboam, the king.
As king of Israel, he wanted to take the kingdom from the hands of Abijah, son of Rehoboam, king of Judah.

So Jeroboam went to battle with 800,000 chosen mighty men of valour against Abijah, who had 400,000 chosen men.

Abijah recognized that Jeroboam had forsaken the Lord and had not kept the charge of the Lord. Abijah told Jeroboam and all Israel, “But as for us, the Lord is our God, and we have not forsaken Him; …
For we keep the command of the Lord our God, but you have forsaken Him” (2 Chronicles 13:10-11).

Jeroboam set ambushments behind and before Judah so that there was no escape from this strong army. The word of the Lord then says, “When Judah looked, behold, the battle was before and behind; and they cried to the Lord, and the  priests blew the trumpets” (2 Chronicles 13:14).

According to Numbers 10:9 the Lord had promised His people, “When you go to war in your land against the enemy that oppresses you, then blow an alarm with the trumpets, that you may be remembered before the Lord your God, and you shall be saved from your enemies.”

Sure enough, when the priests had blown the trumpets, then the men of Judah gave a shout; and as they shouted, God smote Jeroboam and all Israel before Abijah and Judah.

Abijah and his men slew 500,000 chosen men of Israel. The people of Judah prevailed because they relied upon the Lord, the God of their fathers.

Hear it now beloved, the Lord God of hosts will surely defeat your adversaries and put them to shame in this season in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!

Somebody shout, “PRAISE THE LORD!

Shalom and good morning.
