“JESUS IS CALLING OUT TO YOU – FOLLOW ME!”
Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:
“Later, Yeshua went out and saw a tax-collector named Levi sitting in his tax-collection booth; and he said to him, “Follow me!” He got up, left everything, and followed him…” (Luke 5:27-29)
After this, Jesus went out and looked attentively at a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax office; and He said to him, Join Me as a disciple and side with My party and accompany Me.
And he forsook everything and got up and followed Him becoming His disciple and siding with His party. Levi (Matthew) made a great banquet for Him in his own house, and there was a large company of tax collectors and others who were reclining at the table with them.
The call of the Lord came to Levi, who was also called Matthew. It was an effective and strong call. It was an irresistible call in which the Lord did not need to preach a lengthy sermon to convince him.
Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ looked at him with compassion and saw that he was a candidate for the kingdom of heaven. All of a sudden, Jesus, our Lord said to him (Matthew) “Follow Me” and Matthew, without asking any question or without delay, left all and followed Jesus.
These have been the characteristics of people who followed the Lord. They left their old life behind entirely without looking back. Did Matthew understand the reason for his life when he left all and followed Christ Jesus?
Did he know that when somebody is born again, he belongs to the Lord?
Did he know that talents, time, property, future, and life all belong to the Lord? Everything that is done thereafter is for the glory of God.
Matthew took the Lord to his house. Will you take the Lord to your home for He is your Saviour? He is your Lord and the Light of the world. Take the light back to your home.
As for the grace God has given you, take it to your home. Matthew invited not only the Lord to his home but other people as well.
The purpose of being saved is to serve the Lord in spirit and truth. Also to bring sinners to the saving knowledge of Christ.
YOUR CALL IS DIVINE, DON’T REJECT OR POSTPONE IT ANY LONGER.
Somebody shout, “HALLELUJAH AMEN!”
Shalom and good morning.
