“DEPART FROM EVIL & PURSUE RIGHTEOUSNESS”
Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:
“Righteousness makes a nation great, but sin degrades any people” (Proverbs 14:34).
Uprightness and right standing with God, moral and spiritual rectitude in every area and relation elevate a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people.
EXALTING CHRIST THROUGH RIGHTEOUS LIVING
If I honour myself, my honour is nothing, said Jesus. (John 8:54)
Honour lies in honest toil. It is a badge of honour to accept valid criticism (Proverbs 25:12). Humility and reverence for the Lord will make you both wise and honoured (Proverbs 15:33).
The gospel is the power of God unto salvation (Romans 1:16) and needs to be dynamically presented to save souls.
Christ’s message and His transparent holiness brought great conviction and conversion to multitudes (John 8:46).
As Christ’s followers and labourers in the vineyard, we need to be righteous and holy to exalt Him and bring many people to His saving knowledge and grace (John 12:32).
Holiness is the strength of the gospel. We are the light of the world (Matthew 5:16). As light, we need to shine brighter now than ever through righteous living in order to reap the fruit of the harvest.
God will reward our labour of love. The righteous shall flourish like the palm tree.
And the soul winner shall be crowned (Psalms 92:12).
RIGHTEOUS LIVING, A STEPPING STONE TO EXALTING CHRIST
“Here I am; testify against me before the Lord and Saul His anointed. Whose ox or donkey have I taken? Or whom have I defrauded or oppressed? Or from whose hand have I received any bribe to blind my eyes? Tell me and I will restore it to you.”
And they said, “You have not defrauded us or oppressed us or taken anything from any man’s hand” (1 Samuel 12:3-4).
The world is looking for examples and models. We are to be examples to all.
An unholy life dishonours Jesus and hinders many from entering into the kingdom of God but a holy life exalts Jesus and ushers many sinners into the kingdom. Where our words cannot convert souls, righteousness and holiness can (1 Peter 3:1).
DEPART FROM EVIL BUT PURSUE RIGHTEOUSNESS!
Everybody shout, “THANK YOU, JESUS!”
Shalom and good morning.
