“YESHUA, OUR MEDIATOR UNTO GOD”
Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:
“For God is one; and there is but one Mediator between God and humanity, Yeshua the Messiah, himself human, Who gave himself as a ransom on behalf of all, thus providing testimony to God’s purpose at just the right time” (1 Timothy 2:5-6).
For there is only one God, and only one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, Who gave Himself as a ransom for all people, a fact that was attested to at the right and proper time.
SUFFERINGS OF THE LORD AND HIS REWARD
Jesus was mocked for His humility.
He was punished for his faith in His God.
He loved us so much that He suffered humiliation and wounds to free us from sin.
He died so that we could have eternal life.
He bore the cross for us all. Do you have any room for Him in your heart? He is the Christ the Anointed One and the Saviour of the whole world.
(ISAIAH 53:3-10)
He was despised and rejected, a man of sorrows. (v3) He was not esteemed by men or women. He was a man of sorrows because He carried our sorrows. He personally had no sin, sickness, pain or suffering on the accounts of His own self.
Sorrow became the characteristics of His life because He has taken our place on the cross. He was stricken of God (v4,8) and also smitten. Jesus gave His entire self to fulfill God’s purpose.
He laid down His body, soul and spirit to make a complete offering for sin and sickness. He was a complete substitute for us all. Since the body, soul and spirit of man had been contaminated with sin.
It had to take the whole being of the Messiah to take man’s place. The word ‘soul’ is sometimes used of an individual.
There is no such thing as sinning in the flesh and not with the soul and spirit as some people are teaching. The flesh become sinful, depraved and diseased.
Jesus was afflicted, grieved and wounded, therefore He took all our infirmities and bore our sicknesses. (Matthew 8:17)
God laid on Him the iniquity of us all (v6, 11). He was bruised.
All these were done to Jesus. He stood between God and man, received the blow of the sinner upon Himself. He took the punishment meant for sinners and the guilty like us. Justice was taken from Him.
In doing this, Jesus fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah: He put upon himself our weaknesses, and He carried away our diseases and made us well.
Shalom and good morning.
