Mid-week you would start on a new journey into a new Year. Maybe you already have new resolutions for the New Year. Today the 52nd and last Sunday of the year, as you look back at your life what grieves your heart?
There are moments that you look back in life and regret when you truly wake up. Time has passed. Wasted hours, wasted days, oh you can never get them back. You will never be able to walk into the past to redeem wasted hours, wasted priorities, wasted life interests. Perhaps from the time you wake up, you are busy rushing about to make your bank account bigger. Remember the barn story in Luke 12:20, “You fool! This very night your soul is required of you; and now who will own what you have prepared?” This year, neglecting reading the Holy Bible is one of the main things right up on your list. You have traded the time for your own wasteful activity, earthly pursuits! And how you have neglected the Word of God. This is the Word that brings life, the Word that brings healing, the Word that brings restoration, correction, comfort, wholeness and completeness to your self, gives you reason to persevere and carry on when all hope is failing and fading. This is the Word that brings power and revives you, sets you ablaze with zeal and love for God and the brethren, the Word that stirs compassion for the lost, the broken, the helpless and the weak, the Word that brings conviction of sin in your life, brings repentance and brings cleansing of impurities within. This is the Word of Hope, Word of Strength, Word of Joy, Word of Creative insights, Word of Wisdom, Word of Knowledge, Word of Understanding, Word that Enlightens, Word that Creates, Word that Refeshes wilting, lifeless, organs and lives. Hallelujah, this is the bread of Heaven, the Daily Manna, the Living Water that satisfies. Oh how much we all need the Word. How much our life depends on it! How much we must make it a priority in our lives – each and every new day. So if there is one thing you must do more – it is to read the Holy Bible. One thing you must love more – it is to love and cherish the Holy Bible. One thing you must hold each and every day in your hands, see and read with your eyes, hear with your ears and declare with your mouth and treasure with your heart holding it close to you – it is the Holy Bible. If you are using the Bible app on your phone, computer or i-pad, nothing wrong. But there is nothing like owning a physical Book of the Holy Bible. Have one that is yours; One with which you spend time with the Lord; One you write special secrets, words that touch you, words the Lord God Almighty speaks with you; One which has your tears, your finger prints, everything that is unique about you.
Don’t let what happened regarding the Bible this year 2024 happen this coming year 2025 to you. Begin a fresh new walk in your relationship with the Lord. Make the Lord the first One in your life. Give Him your heart, your soul, your body, your mind and all that is yours. Intentionally make every effort to love Him. Intentionally make every effort to read His Word. Befriend the Holy Spirit and make Him your Best Friend. Your life and walk will never be the same as you step out living this life in 2025! A Happy fulfilled end to 2024 and a Blessed New Year 2025 filled with the presence, power and anointing of the Lord upon you in Jesus’ name amen!
