Dearly Beloved in the Lord,
Today is Palm Sunday. This day we rememberthe special events of a special day more than 2000 years ago. Prophet Zechariah centuries ago saw this day coming and spoke about it moved by the Holy Spirit. Zechariah wrote:
“Rejoice greatly, O Daughter of Zion!Shout, O Daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your King is coming to you. He is just and having salvation, lowly and riding on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey.”Zechariah 9:9
Matthew, Mark, Luke and John recount this in the time of Jesus. Matthew (21:1-11) reminds that He is the King, though not like the King who would come to bring deliverance through a political uprising as expected, but a humble King who brings the true deliverance. Mark (11:1-11) reveals that Jesus knows all things. He had commanded two of His disciples to go and find the colt at the designated place and instructed them about what to do. Vs 6 tells us that the conversation of the disciples with the people had been just as Jesus had said and the colt was released to the disciples. Jesus is God, omniscient who knows everything. Nothing from your past, present or future is hidden from Him!
In Luke 19:39 we see the reaction of the angry, jealous Pharisees who wantedthe disciples of Jesus silenced, but if they did the stones themselves would cry out Jesus said for the stones know who Jesus is!
Again in John 12:19 the Pharisees react angrily saying that the world has gone after Jesus! What is your reaction today to the King of kings and Lord of lords. Many of us are self-conscious not even wanting to raise our hands in worship. How about waving a palm branch to the Lord, your deliverer, your Saviour and the Master of your life? Would you do it? What a shame that we won’t acknowledge the Lord. The King is coming soon at a time when no one knows and with your current ‘state of life’ are you sure that you will be caught up to be with Him? Repent brethren while there is time. Turn around while there is grace and mercy. Give the Lord the first place in your life laying aside all other matters. Nothing is more important than the Lord right now in your life. Jesus is the King worthy of the highest honour! He is the Lord worthy of your deepest worship. Give to the Lord of the universe your heart and your life, for He is forever the King. Wave the palm branch today in an act of worship to the King. Wave your hands in an act of surrendering your life to the Saviour and Deliverer. Bow down before the Lord of lords acknowledging that He is the King of your life, all that you have and own. “Shout, Hosanna, Hosanna, Hosanna in the Highest, Hosanna to the King of kings!”
In the blessed name of Jesus!
