My Dearly Beloved in the Lord,
Have you wondered why often you are discouraged and so easily because you prayed and nothing happened? Is there a way that you can keep out of it? Yes, the Lord our God knows all of our weaknesses and He never wants us to fall into the trap of the enemy or be trapped in human weakness that we lose our joy. When Jesus was upon the earth He knew this and He has given us a way out of it.
Jesus told His disciples a parable in the gospel of Luke 18:1 “…to urge them to keep praying and never grow discouraged.” Jesus said that we should pray always without losing heart, without giving up, never losing hope, constantly, never stopping this special activity that connects us to Himself day and night.
Jesus illustrated this with the story of a widow who went to a judge, continually asking for justice against her enemy. The Bible says of this judge: This judge was unjust. He did not reverence God. He did not fear God. He did not respect man. He did not have any consideration or concern for man.
This judge was desperate to get away from the widow’s continual coming and bothering him, for he said, “….this widow is driving me crazy. She’s never going to quit coming to see me unless I hear her case and provide her legal protection” (Luke 18: 5 The Voice). So the judge decided: “I will defend and protect and avenge her, lest she give me intolerable annoyance and wear me out by her continual coming or at the last she come and rail on me or assault me or strangle me” (Luke 18:5 Amp B).
When we pray, call out to the Lord, the Living God, our Loving Heavenly Father will HE not respond to us? Our Heavenly Father hears prayers! He longs to hear us His own call to Him! He longs and waits for us to draw near to His presence. Our Father waits to hear the sound of our voice calling to Him and presenting our cases in faith! He wants us to be in communion and constant consultation with Him all the time and on all matters. Our Father is not unjust, neither will He shut out His ears from the cries of His own chosen ones coming before Him day and night! Our God will defend, avenge and come to our aid, speedily, and He will not delay to answer us when we call upon Him, the Lord Jesus assures us. The Bible is full of true promises. Lift up your eyes unto the hills from where your help comes from! (Psalm 121:1) This poor man cried out and the Lord heard him and saved him out of all his troubles (Psalm 34:6).
So now what keeps us from coming to the presence of the Lord? Doubt, fear, anxiety, not knowing the nature of God well, not making effort to seek His face and speak with Him, giving up easily on prayer and on Him. There is nothing impossible with the Lord and He never changes. So let us continually lift up our voices to the Lord with the pressing needs and prayer requests not giving up! See for yourself how speedily your Father hears and responds to you when you don’t give up but continually come to Him praying and with expectation for answers and thank Him for answering you in Jesus’ name, Amen!
