The Word

Beloved brethren,

We must be careful what we say when we pray the prayer of faith in order not to pollute our prayer. For instance, Romans 4:17-21 say that we call out those things which do not exist as if they were because of faith. Faith believes what it says and says what it believes. In verse 18, it tells us that Abraham believed God without any iota of doubt concerning the Word that was spoken to him by the Almighty God. When you pray the prayer of faith, you must *depend on the Word of God that has been spoken, written, or given to you.*Believe it and it shall be yours. In verse 19, Abraham was not weakened in faith when he saw the impotence of his body, which was as good as dead as he was about a hundred years old. Neither was he discouraged by the barrenness of Sarah’s deadened womb. He did not consider the impediments, the obstructions or the human reasoning but believed that God could do what He had spoken.

When you pray the prayer of faith, believe that God is able to do more than you ask and more than you think. The prayer of faith is not a prayer for you to dance around with doubts and unbelief. The prayer of faith does not question the promises of God. Do not look at what is impossible for “impossible” is only in the vocabulary of an unbeliever. Abraham did not know how it was going to happen but he believed that God was able to turn things around for him. God is able to turn your disappointments into appointments. He is able to turn your impossibilities into possibilities.

Verse 21 assures us that God is not a covenant breaker. None of the words spoken by God will return to Him void but it will accomplish what He has sent it forth for and it will prosper. We should not be moved or shaken but believe that God is able to bring forth what He has spoken because that is His way.

Yours for the kingdom of God,
Dr. Daniel O. C.
