My dearly Beloved in the Lord,

“Mummy can I join dancing?” It was our youngest son in reference to the dance ministry on Sundays during worship. My heart jumped for joy but soon his brother’s voice erupted, “Boys dont dance only girls dance!” which was true to an extent in that all the dancers so far were only girls. I was quick to tell them about king David who danced before the Lord and that was enough to get little Joseph set in the dance ministry to the Lord for many years. There was no turning back. He joined the young dancers and was dancing before the Lord on the very first day even without practise. He had quietly learnt to do it by observing them and learning the steps in his memory.  Later it did encourage other young boys to step out and dance for the Lord. Thank God for the Bible and godly examples we can emulate. The point here is: Would you step out for the Lord in obedience to do what He delights in even if you have not seen examples around?

Today will you in obedience do what the Lord wants you to do? You may not dance but while you worship would you lift up your heart and hands to the Lord your God? The word of God in Lamentations 3:41 encourages us: “Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens.

When the first temple was built and ready this is what it says of King Solomon. “Then Solomon stood before the altar of the Lord in the presence of all the assembly of Israel and spread out his hands toward heaven” (1 Kings 8:22). King Solomon had lift his hands and spread them out in prayer to the Lord God.

After the walls of Jerusalem were rebuilt and Ezra had read the word of God see the response of the people. “Then Ezra blessed the Lord the great God. And all the people answered, ‘Amen, Amen!’ while lifting up their hands; then they bowed low and worshiped the Lord with their faces to the ground” (Nehemiah 8:6). The people lifted up their hands and bowed low with their faces to the ground and worshipped the Lord. What a response!

Lifting up of our hands in the house of the Lord is an act to bless the Lord. The Lord deserves the praises and blessings of His people. So beloved don’t waste the times and opportunities to bless the Lord in the house of God and yours. As we worship the Lord lift up your hands to bless His holy name and offer your hearts and voices in singing praises to the Lord. Do it today while there is breath in you. The Psalmist exhorts us: Lift up your hands in the sanctuary And bless the Lord (Psalms 134:2). Bless the Lord today with lifted hands!
In Jesus’s name amen!

In the blessed love of God,

Sister Elizabeth Daniel
