Dearly Beloved,
Satan is obsessed with one desire: to have you with him in hell his eternal dwelling place. He is ever prowling around determined to hook you more and more into his evil world so you don’t belong to the Lord, have time for the Lord or for His kingdom.
Remember the parable of the rich man and Lazarus (Luke 16:19-31). The rich man had lived luxuriously, died and was in hell tormented in the scorching flames. Looking up he saw Lazarus, the poor man who had eaten the crumbs that fell from his table, in the bosom of Abraham. The rich man pleaded for mercy, unable to bear the torment of the flames and requested, “Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus that he may dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame” (vs 24).
Hell is the place of eternal torment, eternal agony, eternal suffering, eternal pain, eternal burning, eternal destruction, “blazing furnace, where the people will cry and grind their teeth with pain” (Matthew 13:42 EXB). Hell is for “…the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars—they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulphur” (Revelation 21:8). Hell is for the wicked and the nations that forget God (Psalm 9:17).
Adam’s sin hung a “hell sentence for us all” to be in the burning flames of hell where there is no mercy, where the worms never die and where we are doomed forever. But Jesus paid the price with His life to deliver us from hell so we can be with Him in Heaven. He has prepared for us a place (Heaven) to live and be with Him forever. “I go to prepare a place for you.…. I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also” (John 14:2-3). It is so important right now that we put away anything in our lives that cause us to fall away from Him. “…the cost to the soul in hell is so utterly devastating that if anything interferes with a man’s right standing before God, causing him to stumble, that item should be eliminated regardless of cost” (the Believer’s Study Bible). We must eliminate the bad lifestyle-evil habits, evil ways not according to the bible which displeases the Lord, sever ties with those who destroy our walk with God and limit time to only what’s essential with gadgets. We must turn to the Lord, seek His face with an undivided heart, read His word and cultivate instant obedience to Him in every area of our lives. Question yourself: Am I marching toHeaven or Hell?
In the love of Jesus,
Sister Elizabeth Daniel
