Beloved Saints of God,

This is the day of great rejoicing and celebration for every Deeperlifer of twenty-five years of God’s amazing grace and lovingkindness in DLCC. The eyes of our hearts be upon Him as He alone takes center-stage, giving Him all the glory, honor and adoration for His awesome miraculous grace which we have received with thanksgiving and gratitude in our hearts. We must remember that God who has begun a good work in and through us never set us up to fail but to grow and succeed in Christ. This is why Hebrews 12:2 tells us to fix our eyes on Jesus, Who is the Author and Finisher of our faith. Our goal is to sustain our focus on Him so that we become like the One we behold to know and appreciate our divine identity and purpose.

When we are born again, the desire to please God and do His will, will become part of our nature as we journey with Him. God’s will becomes our will through an intimate relationship with our Lord Jesus. Our obedience plays an important part in seeing the will of God being accomplished here on earth. In 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, Apostle Paul instructed us to, “Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.” Rejoicing, prayer and thanksgiving agree with heaven by acknowledging the truth that our lives are a gift from God. Thankfulness carries an attitude of humility. Thanksgiving is the only proper way to receive what God has graciously given to us. It honours our relationship with Him by expressing trust in His goodness, even if we do not yet understand fully what we have received.

Psalm 100:4 says we “enter into His gates with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise.” Thanksgiving and praise bring us into God’s manifest presence and connects us with what He is doing in our midst. Thanksgiving and praise also connect us to our primary purpose – to minister and glorify God in worship. King David said that God is our glory and the lifter of our heads (Psalm 3:3). We cannot be with Him without having our heads lifted to see Him and His joy becomes our strength and song (Psalm 118:14).

Shalom in Jesus’ love,
Pastor Brian Chua
