Dear worshipers of the Most High,
Have you spoken to someone about Christ Jesus?
The holy Bible reveals a holy God who not only demands righteousness, but He also supplies it. In God’s own begotten Son Christ Jesus, God supplies the righteousness that He demands. The righteous requirement of the law is fulfilled in us through His own Son (Rom 8:3-4). Christ Jesus has wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, and He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross (Ephesians 2:13-14). Truly, “For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him” (2 Corinthians 5:21). In Christ, the saints are righteous. In Christ, the sinners can be made righteous.
Sin has separated man from God, but in Christ all the demands are met and all the requirements are fulfilled. Essentially, the Bible reveals the message of God’s redemption of the fallen man. It opens with a picture of redemption, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light” (Genesis 1:1-3). The Bible reveals that light entered into what was without form, void and in darkness. The same Bible closes with a promise of redemption, “He who testifies to these things says, surely I am coming quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus! The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen” (Revelations 22:20-21). Indeed, on that day when we see His face, our redemption shall be complete. In Christ, we all have a blissful future to look forward to, “And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes; there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying. There shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away” (Revelations 21:4).
Through Christ’s obedience and sacrifice, man can now access to the holy and righteous God. The fierceness of God’s anger and the fire of His fury was upon Him (Nahum 1:6). In Him, man can now approach God, who now declares, “fury is not in me” (Isaiah 27:4). The only acceptable way to God is through Christ and Christ alone. “For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus” (1 Timothy 2:5). “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved” (Acts 4:12). Jesus declares Himself, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).
Beloved saints of God, before we bid goodbye to 2024, will you speak to someone about Christ Jesus – the only way to the Father?
Shalom,
Rev. Wilfred Lim
