Dearly Beloved in the Lord,

Today is the first Sunday of 2025! Beloved, where are you today? In the golf club? Practising for the marathon race? Relaxing and comfortable at home saying, “Oh I will ‘watch’ livestream”? If you are in the House of God, the House of your Father, surely you are in the right place! And not only today. Every Sunday the rest of the year get yourself there in the House of God! There cannot be a better appointment! There cannot be a better place you can be than in the House of God on a Sunday morning. If you are elsewhere, check your heart, your priorities, your excuses and your commitment to the Lord. Something is really not right. Something is totally wrong if week after week and time after time you find yourself desiring to be away from your Father’s House! At first it may be a genuine excuse but when it continues again and again surely you have fallen right into the trap of the devil. You have been deceived beloved! You surely want to disagree with me now saying, “The Bible does not command us to go to church on Sunday!” If this is your defense and you are weak to stand up for it, consider what the Bible says, “Praise God in His sanctuary” Psalms 150:1, “Let the word of God dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another…” Colossians 3:15. You need to check if have lost your first love, if you have lost your regard for what is holy! And as much as you want to argue to justify yourself that it is the same as ‘watching’ from home, hear this! Today, Sunday is holy! A day set apart for the Lord. You will know how important this is on the day you gave a life-threatening situation. Then suddenly you will say, l want to ‘go’ to church and ‘watching’ from home becomes worthless. Suddenly it feels that it is the right and urgent thing to do. And hurriedly you get yourself through rain or shine, to the house of God because then it seems the urgent, necessary and the right thing to do.
Can you stay on the side of truth, pick up your bible and begin to go to church every Sunday? Go to the house of God with joy and excitement, not because someone you know is there. You are going to meet Your Father in His House. You are going for a divine appointment. You are going for a face to face encounter. You are going to bring Him your praises, worship, adoration and pour out the affections of your heart to Him together with the body of Christ. Go with joy, rejoicing! And go in your best attire. Heaven rejoices today that you can made a strong decision against the winds of your flesh, striving to please the Lord God. And stay by it week after week. Today, go to the house of God and dedicate yourself to the Lord to be true and faithful to Him. Dedicate yourself to serve Him! Dedicate yourself to reach out to others, pray and read the Word. Hallelujah! Praise the Lord!
