We can be hurt by the words and activities of tale bearers. Gossipers have no other choice than to talk about people. These people may carry their own beams but are gossiping about the specs of others. They cause confusion wherever they go without realising that the Lord is watching them. We are often hurt most by those we love best. “And one will say to him,  ‘What are these wounds between your arms?’ Then he will answer,  ‘Those with which I was wounded in the house of my friends'” (Zechariah 13:6). This does not mean that you stop loving people just because they will hurt you. Love beara all things and endures all things. Resentment and unforgiveness turn people’s actions into inner hurts. Choose to forgive otherwise your sins will not be forgiven by God. Jesus is our perfect example to the end when He was nailed to the cross. He chose to forgive his persecutors.
“Then Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them for they do not know what they do’ and they divided his garments and cast lots” (Luke 23:34). Remember, to resent or to forgive is a matter of choice. When you choose to forgive, you are being set free. However many people have the notion that when they forgive their perpetrators they are setting them free. This is not true. Unforgiveness is like a cobweb. If you do not deal with it promptly it will become steel bars to lock you up. Seek to forgive and forget. What happened in the last minute is a past. When you choose to obey God, new things will unfold in your life. You will also receive unexpected blessings when you forgive. The devil will remind you of the hurt to keep you in bondage but resist him by choosing to forgive and forget. Choose not to entertain the ungodly thoughts and live for Jesus. Many are dying in the bondage of unforgiveness. You will reap what you sow. If you sow in righteousness you will reap in righteousness.
