RULES FOR GODLY INFLUENCE

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

My son, if sinners entice you, don’t go along with them. Suppose they say, ‘Come with us: we’ll ambush somebody and kill him, we’ll waylay some harmless soul, just for fun……’” (Proverbs 1:10-14).

When peer pressure compels you to go with the crowd and sinners invite you to join in, you must simply say, “No!” When the gang says— “We’re going to steal and kill and get away with it. We will take down the rich and rob them. We’ll swallow them up alive and take what we want from whomever we want. Then we’ll take their treasures and fill our homes with loot. So come on and join us. Take your chance with us. We’ll divide up all we get; we’ll each end up with big bags of cash!”

THE RULES FOR GODLY INFLUENCE
Influence is good but it depends whether it is a good or bad one. We must be motivated to have the power of love instead of the love for power.

Let no one confuse power with greatness for there is a wide difference between both.
A godly influence makes the difference in a person’s life, and bad influence repels a good one.

What is influence? Influence is the same as effect, authority, control, domination, pressure, magnetism, weight etc.
There are two kinds of influences namely, good and bad influences.

Satan in the form of serpent influenced Eve to disobey God Almighty (Genesis 3:1-7) but we are called to influence the world for God with godliness and righteousness.

  • Noah did not allow the world to influence him in his generation (Genesis 6:9-22).
  • Lot did not allow Sodom and Gomorrah to influence him to unrighteousness (Genesis 19).

  • Reuben the first son of Israel influenced his brothers not to shed the blood of Joseph their brother (Genesis 37:21-22).
  • Joseph influenced King Pharaoh and Egyptians on how to handle the looming famine (Genesis 41:37-46).

  • David influenced the 400 social parasites with him to become a formidable military force (1 Samuel 22:1-4).
  • Esther influenced the King to preserve the Jews (Esther 5:1-4).

What delight comes to the one who follows God’s ways! He won’t walk in step with the wicked, nor share the sinner’s way, nor be found sitting in the scorner’s seat.

Everybody shout, “PRAISE THE LORD!

Sabbath shalom and good morning.
