“MINISTER FOR SPIRITUAL GROWTH”
Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:
“And keep growing in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Deliverer, Yeshua the Messiah. To him be the glory, both now and forever! Amen” (2 Peter 3:18).
But grow in grace, undeserved favour, spiritual strength, recognition and knowledge and understanding of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ the Messiah. To Him be glory, honour, majesty, and splendour both now and to the day of eternity. Amen!
MINISTER FOR SPIRITUAL GROWTH (1 Timothy 4:12)
Every minister must realize and appreciate the need to grow spiritually. Any Christian or minister of the gospel who is eager to grow spiritually must ensure that he or she removes all the hindrances or obstacles to growth.
FACTORS THAT IMPEDE SPIRITUAL GROWTH
There are obviously some factors which may impede or promote spiritual growth.
Factors That Impede Spiritual Growth
Doubtful salvation experience
Secret sin (Hebrews 12:1)
Unequal yoke (2 Corinthians 6:14-16)
Worldliness (1 John 2:15-17)
Prayerlessness
Self-indulgence
Lack of self-examination (2 Corinthians 13:5)
FACTORS THAT PROMOTE SPIRITUAL GROWTH
Genuine salvation experience
Holiness of life
Holy Ghost baptism (Acts 1:8)
Regular devotional life and study of the word of God. (2 Timothy 2:15)
Prayerfulness (Ephesians 6:18)
Daily hunger and thirst for more righteousness. (Matthew 5:6 / Psalms 42:1-3)
Faithfulness in God’s service (1 Corinthians 4:1-2 / 15:58)
MEANING OF SPIRITUAL GROWTH (Ephesians 2:20-22 / 1 Peter 2:5)
Spiritual growth relates to the development and perfection of believers.
It also includes progression in grace / knowledge / wisdom / virtue and faith.
Such growth is not necessarily determined by years of conversion of the individual or how long you have been a Christian.
Spiritual growth involves:
Growing in grace (in all graces) (2 Peter 3:18)
Growing in the knowledge of God and Christ.
Growing in faith (2 Thessalonians 1:3)
Growing in love towards one another (1 Thessalonians 3:2)
Growing in spirit and wisdom (Luke 2:52)
Growing in spiritual strength (Luke 2:40)
Growing in Christian virtues (2 Peter 1:5-7)
Growing in understanding of spiritual things (Colossians 1:9)
Growing in Christlikeness in all things (Ephesians 4:13, 15-16)
Let us grow up unto Jesus Christ in all things and everybody shout a loud and resounding, “AMEN & AMEN!”
Sabbath shalom and good morning.
