“BE QUICK TO FORGIVE OTHERS FOR IT IS WELL PLEASING TO ADONAI!”
Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:
“For if you forgive others their offenses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you; but if you do not forgive others their offenses, your Heavenly Father will not forgive yours.” (Matthew 6:14-15).
For if you forgive people their trespasses, their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you.
But if you do not forgive others, their trespasses, their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment, neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses.
A CARING ATTITUDE
Beloved, what do you do more than others? Here is a poser of all times…..” (Matthew 5:20). Our religion or piousness is vain if we do not meet the Biblical standards.
Do you know that the whole gamut of love is couched in the word – righteousness?
You can’t gossip, backbite, slander, curse, or speak evil of the person you love.
Can you forgive anyone whom you know is hell-bent on destroying you? Yet, Jesus’ command is to forgive. If not, your Heavenly Father will not forgive you of your own sins (Matthew 6:14-15).
As we relate with one another, compassion should be a major ingredient in these relationships. Mercy is compassion in action. No wonder Jesus told the disciples, “Have compassion on them. And on some have compassion, making a distinction; but others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire, hating even the garment defiled by the flesh” (Jude 1:22-23).
Mercy flows into forgiveness as it stems from love. It is greater than forgiveness, less than love, but different from grace, and it is one with truth. A redeemed person who has received the mercy and grace of God will spiritually demonstrate the same qualities in four ways:
a) Pity those in sin and without God. While others see their wealth, glamour, ostentatious living, influence and beauty, the redeemed believer sees the ugliness of sin, the depravity of man, the decadence in morals, the judgement of God and the eternal damnation in hell fire. All these should arouse nothing less than our pity as believers.
b) Secondly, prod unbelievers towards leaning on Jesus Christ. You need not sound preachy. “Likewise, you wives, be submissive to your own husbands, that even if some do not obey the Word, they, without a word, may be won by the conduct of their wives, when they observe your chaste conduct accompanied by fear” (1 Peter 3:1-2).
c) Thirdly, pray earnestly for the conversion of unbelievers. Pray with them when they are in affliction or distress. Let us bear the infirmities of one another (2 Corinthians 11:29/Romans 15:1).
d) Fourthly, plead with unbelievers to forsake sin, all unrighteousness, and turn away from them. Whatever evil intentions they had in mind before should be forgotten. “Come to Jesus now, and He will receive you” must be our constant word.
YOU ARE BLESSED IN JESUS’ MIGHTY NAME, AMEN!
Everybody shout, “GLORY TO GOD!”
Sabbath shalom and good morning.
