“DON’T WAIT TO PRAY REGULARLY”
Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:
“But I will call on God, and Adonai will save me. Evening, morning and noon I complain and moan; but he hears my voice” (Psalm 55:16-17).
As for me, I will call upon the Lord to save me, and I know he will! Every evening I will explain my need to him. Every morning I will move my soul toward him. Every waking hour I will worship only him, and he will hear and respond to my cry.
DON’T WAIT TO PRAY REGULARLY
Are you waiting for something awful and terrible to happen before you seriously get down to pray?
That’s what happens in the lives of most people.
Spiritual awakening and the reality of prayer strike in the hearts of some people only when there is a shaking in the concerns of those near and dear or themselves or something precious and important.
Beloved, do not wait for such moments for you never know what the next moment brings – life or death, loss or gain. Pray now. Start praying for others, praying for the church, praying for yourself.
Know that prayer works in your midst where nothing else is of avail. Jesus Himself knew the importance of prayer. That is why in the Garden of Gethsemane he told Peter, James and John, “All of you must keep awake, give strict attention, be cautious, active, watch and pray, that you may not come into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak” (Matthew 26:41).
The New Testament Church saw miracles happening, the Word growing mightily and the Church increasing because they were willing to give themselves steadfastly to prayer. “But we we will continue to devote ourselves steadfastly to prayer and the ministry of the Word” (Acts 6:4).
The Apostles separated themselves to prayer and the Word while others took care of the daily administration.
How much of yourself have you given to prayer?
How serious is praying in your heart that you would spare yourself to stand in the gap for the concerns of others?
The Word of God warns us in 1 Peter 4:7: “Since we are approaching the end of all things, be intentional, purposeful, and self-controlled so that you can be given to prayer.”
“PRAYER IS A SPIRITUAL EXERCISE, THEREFORE PRAY ON!”
Shalom and good morning.
