“BOAZ: GOD’S HEROIC SERVANT”

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

“Bo‘az said to Ruth, ‘Did you hear that, my daughter? Don’t go to glean in another field, don’t leave this place, but stick here with my working girls. Keep your eyes on whichever field the reapers are working……….’” (Ruth 2:8-9).

Boaz walked over to Ruth and said, Listen, my daughter, don’t leave this field to glean somewhere else. Stay here in my field and follow the young women who work for me.

Watch my harvesters to see into which fields they go to cut grain, and follow them. When you’re thirsty, go and drink from the water jugs that the young men have filled. I’ve warned the young men not to bother you.

BOAZ: GOD’S HEROIC SERVANT
The truth is not always what we want to hear.
Truth may languish but can never perish.
Truth needs no crutches but if it limps it is a lie.

The man who speaks the truth is always at ease.
Therefore, behold truth, hold on to it and never sell it for a lie.

God’s heroes are people of their word.
God’s heroes do not make decisions based on one sided stories.
God’s heroes follow after God.
God’s heroes make difficult decisions based on the leading of the Holy Spirit.

God’s heroes are not afraid of difficult encounters.
God’s heroes are bible-based Christian believers, not wishy washy, unsteady wavering, unstable people.
God’s heroes honour God in all things.
God’s heroes sacrifice their lives for others.

Who was Boaz? (Ruth 2-4:1-17) Here is a little statistic of the book of Ruth.
The book of Ruth is a simple historical record of life in Israel during the time of Judges.
It is the 8th book of the bible with 4 chapters, 85 verses and 2578 words.
It contains 16 questions and it is the first book of the bible without a prophecy.

Boaz was a Bethlehemite, a man of his word and sensitive to other people’s needs (Ruth 2:1-4).
He was a man of responsibility, integrity, successful and a shrewd businessman.
Boaz loved God so much and wanted God’s blessings on those around him including those who worked in his fields (Philippians 2:2-4).

He would always greet his workers because he was a godly man (Ruth 2:4).
He was a leader with a heart of gold and generous with his God-given resources.
He was a model of kindness required in all godly leaders and believers alike.

We must learn how to reach out to all those God has put under our influence in order to reach the unreachable, touch the untouched, teach the untaught and love the unloved for God’s glory in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!
