“BE COMMITTED TO GOD”
Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:
“Commit your way to Adonai; trust in him, and he will act” (Psalm 37:5).
Commit your way to the Lord, roll and repose each care of your load on Him; trust, lean on, rely on, and be confident also in Him and He will bring it to pass.
BE COMMITTED TO GOD
Are you about to sell your house? Or perhaps on the lookout to buy one? Maybe you are contemplating a new business venture or probably you are on the brink of deciding about your future life partner.
Life is full of decisions. Big ones and small ones, each of which will affect us and those around us. But how often do we include the most important Person, God Almighty in our decision-making process?
On Sundays, we like to “visit” the Lord in church. Though we have made Him our Saviour, during the week we live as if we are the master of our lives. Then when everything goes wrong, we run desperately to the Lord. And we go chasing after every man of God for prayer and counsel.
In 2 Chronicles 12:14, we read of King Rehoboam, “And he did evil, because he prepared not his heart to seek the Lord.” But in 2 Chronicles 20:3 we read, “And Jehoshaphat feared, and set himself to seek the Lord…” There was victory in the camp of Judah, for the Lord fought their battle, when they had sought Him. What a contrast between the ways of these two kings!
Psalm 10:4 says, “The wicked one in the pride of his countenance will not seek, inquire for, and yearn for God; all his thoughts are that there is no God, so He never punishes”. How about you? Is the Lord in all your thoughts? Is He a partner in all your ventures? Do you seek His face and His counsel in all your decisions?
No matter how high your educational qualifications or how good your bank balance looks or excellent your capacity for reasoning and logical thinking is or how strong the evidence to support your decision, you need to humble yourself and go before God to seek His face.
Let not your pride or self-confidence prevent you from looking unto the Lord.
Let us commit our ways and works into His hands in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!
Before you do anything, put your trust totally in God and not in yourself. Then every plan you make will succeed for His glory in Jesus’ mighty name, Amen!
Somebody shout, “PRAISE THE LORD!”
Shalom and good morning.
