SEVEN CLASSES OF PEOPLE WHO FOLLOWED JESUS

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

When Yeshua came into the territory around Caesarea Philippi, he asked his talmidim, ‘Who are people saying the Son of Man is?’” (Matthew 16:13)

Now, when Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?”

THE UNIQUENESS OF CHRIST JESUS
There were many people who asked questions about Christ. They wondered about Him. They wanted to know who He was. Some people followed Him, but not all of them really were convinced about His personality.

There were seven classes of people that followed Him. They are:

  • The CURIOUS: People who heard of His miracles, feeding the thousands, healing the multitudes, delivering those in bondages and many others. They were curious to know who He was.

  • The CRITICAL: People who were the Pharisees and Sadducees, the so-called religious people. They criticized almost everything He said, did, and they also criticized the people He associated with.

  • The CONDEMNED: People who were condemned in their hearts because they were criminals in the society. An example of this category of people was the thief on the cross.

  • The CONVICTED: People knew that they were criminals and, as such, were looking up to God for forgiveness, peace of mind, salvation and the possibility of reconciliation with God.

They knew that they were sinners, and they had the burden of conviction of their sins upon them. An example of this was the sinful woman who came to Jesus Christ weeping at His feet.

  • The CONVINCED: People knew that Jesus Christ was not ordinary but extraordinary. His birth, life, utterances and actions were all extraordinary. He was just not like other people. An example of this was Nicodemus, who told Him, “We know that You are a teacher come from God; for ……..” (John 3:2).

  • The CONVERTED: People were those who had realized that they were going astray.
They knew the sin and the selfishness in them and they had come to Him in genuine repentance, believing in the Lord and following Him.

In fact, they had not only opened their hearts unto the Lord Jesus but had also opened their homes. Examples of these were Mary, Martha, Lazarus, and others.

  • The COMMITTED: People comprised of persons like Peter, James, John, and all the disciples who became so committed that they followed Him everywhere He went.

In all these categories of people, one thing was common: they all wanted to know who Jesus was. They all had their levels of understanding of who Jesus was. We believe that these seven classes of people still exist today in our contemporary time and generation.

Definitely, you fit into one of these classes. Maybe you are the curious type who just wants to know about Him or the critical who does not want to know because you have made up your mind.

JESUS IS THE TRUTH, FOLLOW HIM.

Everybody shout, “AMEN HALLELUJAH!

Shalom and good morning.
