“PRINCIPLES OF CHRISTIAN LIVING (CONT’D)”
Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:
“Yes, keep this book of the Torah on your lips, and meditate on it day and night so that you will take care to act according to everything written in it……..” (Joshua 1:8)
This Book of the Law shall not depart out of your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may observe and do according to all that is written in it. For then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall deal wisely and have good success.
PRINCIPLES OF CHRISTIAN LIVING (PART 2)
FASTING
Through fasting, we humble ourselves before God. Apostle Paul knew what it means to fast. (2 Cor 6:5 / 11:7)
GIVING
Apostle Paul also reminded us about the blessings of giving. (2 Corinthians 9:8-12 / 8:9)
Outward circumstances and difficulties should not inhibit generosity in giving.
(2 Corinthians 8:1-4) The Macedonian churches were not giving out of abundance but generously giving out of their poverty.
We must give, not because we had to give but because we are willing to give. We must always give far beyond our financial ability.
We must see the opportunity to give unto the Lord as a privilege and not an obligation. Giving unto the Lord is to be viewed as Christian grace. Remember that joy and generosity are twins; they accompany each other.
COMMITMENT
There will be no strong relationship without commitment and there will be no genuine commitment without time investment. This word “commitment” can change your life if only you can learn the principles of giving yourself completely to God.
Apostle Paul admonishes (1 Timothy 6:20-21), “Guard what was committed to your trust, avoid profane and idle words.” Peter the apostle also admonishes us to be steadfast. (1 Peter 4:7-19)
SEPARATION
We are to maintain a life of separation from the world for God’s glory. For this reason, “Come out from among them and be separate,” says the Lord. “Touch nothing that is unclean, and I will embrace you. I will be a true Father to you, and you will be my beloved sons and daughters,” says the Lord Yahweh Almighty. (2 Corinthians 6:14-18)
DEDICATION
In conclusion, be strong in the Lord, be empowered through your union with Him; draw your strength from Him, that strength which His boundless might provides.
Put on God’s complete set of armour provided for us so that you will be protected as you fight against the evil strategies of the accuser! (Ephesians 6:10-11)
Everybody shout, “THANK YOU, JESUS!”
Shalom and good morning.
