“FRIENDS OF GOD MOST HIGH”

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

“All these people kept on trusting until they died, without receiving what had been promised. They had only seen it and welcomed it from a distance, while acknowledging that they were aliens and temporary residents on the earth. For people who speak this way make it clear that they are looking for a fatherland……..” (Hebrews 11:13-16)

These people all died controlled and sustained by their faith, but not having received the tangible fulfillment of God’s promises, only having seen it and greeted it from a great distance by faith, and all the while acknowledging and confessing that they were strangers and temporary residents and exiles upon the earth.

Now those people who talk as they did show plainly that they are in search of a fatherland and their own country. If they had been thinking with homesick remembrance of that country from which they were emigrants, they would have found constant opportunity to return to it.

But the truth is that they were yearning for and aspiring to a better and more desirable country, that is, a heavenly one. For that reason God is not ashamed to be called their God even to be surnamed their God–the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, for He has prepared a city for them.

FRIENDS OF GOD MOST HIGH
“These are they who have contended
For their Saviour’s honour long,
Wrestling on till life was ended,
Following not the sinful throng,

These, who well the fight sustained,
Triumph by the Lamb have gained.
These are they whose hearts were given,
Sore with woe and anguish tried,
Who in prayer full have striven,
With the God they glorified,
Now their painful conflict o’er
God has told them ‘weep no more.”

Beloved! Are you numbered among such saints? Are you a friend of God?
Or a hero of faith? You can be one today as you repent and surrender all. God bless you as you heed His word.

BE ONE OF THE HEROS OF FAITH FOR GOD’S GLORY IN JESUS’ MIGHTY NAME, AMEN!
