My Beloved Saints of God,

Father God calls us to a meaningful relationship with Him out of His love for His children bought with the precious blood of Christ Jesus, His only Son. He has called and awakened our inner-man to draw close to Him. Moses encountered an Angel of the Lord in the “burning bush” that was not consumed, while walking on a mountain. God Almighty called him from the bush the moment he turned closer to look, he answered, “Here I am.” (Exodus 3:4). A lifelong adventure of his journey with the Lord began. The voice of God through this supernatural encounter moved Moses’ heart to walk with Him. His relationship with God based on trust and faith allowed him to learn God’s way as His deliverer to the Hebrews from the land of slavery.

Elijah was a man with a nature like us, but he prayed earnestly and it did not rain for three years (James 5:17). At the end of those three years, he prayer that it would begin to rain again. He bowed down with his face between his knees, seeking God fervently. The seventh time he looked, and there was a small cloud. Elijah knew his prayers had been answered and he ran for cover before the storm hit (1 Kings 18:42-45). The Psalmist pleaded the Lord’s favor with all his heart (Psalms 119:58). All of Judah swore with their whole hearts to obey the Lord and sought Him earnestly with their whole desires (2 Chronicles 15:15). Because of their fervency, God gave them rest.

There is a place for agony in prayer, for compassion, burdens, tears groaning and travail. Jesus Himself was moved with compassion to heal (Matthew 20:34). He offered up prayers and supplications with loud crying and tears (Hebrews 5:7). In His agony in the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus prayed very fervently and His sweat became like great drops of blood falling down to the ground (Luke 22:44). The psalmist called us to pour out our hearts before God for He is our refuge (Psalm 62:8). Can you see the intensity of feeling in one whose heart is poured before God? The Lord Almighty is near to the broken-hearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalms 34:18). Praise the Lord! The Holy Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groaning too deep for words (Romans 8:26). The peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus! We must let the peace of God rule in our hearts, determining when the matter is settled and peace can break forth. Amen!

Shalom in Jesus’ love
