Beloved brethren,
Your faith needs to be exercised. You can’t stay year after year like a baby wailing at the slightest trouble and looking for your “mama” or “papa” or “nanny”. What comes your way needs to be challenged by your strong stand in the Lord. There are God’s promises, God’s authority, the name of Jesus, the blood of Jesus, anointing of God, the example of the Lord Jesus, all available for you to exercise your faith. This opportunity before you is your time to stretch your faith, not to be crying in self-pity, neither feeling hopeless, nor standing confused at the edge of the Red Sea or Jordan and wail. This is no time to be mulling over if you should go back to Egypt or look back and flee. You need to shift your eyes unto the Lord. Your help can come only from Him. The Lord reminds, “But you have not called upon Me O Jacob…” (Isaiah 43:22) Sons and daughters….. call upon the Lord. Bring your case to Him. He urges you. “Put Me in remembrance…” Call upon Him. Bring your case to Him. The Lord of Heaven and earth says “…state your case…” (Isaiah 43:26) Table your case before Him like Jehoshaphat did (1 Chronicles 20:5-12) and tell the Lord that your eyes are upon Him. Spread out your evidence before Him as Hezekiah did (2 Kings 19:14 “Hezekiah received the letter… and spread it before the Lord.”)
For a child of faith there is only way: ahead! Through the waters! When Shadrach, Abednego and Meshach were about to the thrown in the fire, they didn’t plead, apologise or seek a turn around. They were ready to go through the fire even if it meant death. You belong to the Lord and He is always speaking to you, showing you the way, assuring you of His presence, His mighty power. In Isaiah 43:2 He says to you: “When you pass..”, which means you need to go step out and walk “…through the waters”…”when you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.” He Himself, the Lord God Almighty is telling you not to look back, not to consider your past, your failures, your hiding places, your earthly refuges, not to be afraid, discouraged nor lose hope as you go through the fire.
It is easy to sing songs of faith in the church with everyone around. But what about when you are facing alone: a storm, a sea, a fire, a betrayal, a prison, a death sentence? When you are tested, tried, tormented can you stand? Yes, the heroes of faith in the bible stood. You can too with all that the Lord has given you and all He is to you. He is with you. He will never fail you. So stand strong. Let this year see you rise to great heights in your faith. When everything is shaken, stand unshakable in the Lord. When everything is moving and crumbling, stand immovable in the Lord, as a great witness for Him and for the glory of the Lord! Declare: “Yes I will make it through with the Lord in Jesus’ name, Amen!” Hallelujah!
In the blessed love of Jesus,
Sister Elizabeth Daniel
