“REFRAIN FROM IDLE TALK”

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

“Moreover, I tell you this: on the Day of Judgment people will have to give account for every careless word they have spoken; for by your own words you will be acquitted, and by your own words you will be condemned” (Matthew 12:36-37).

But I tell you, on the day of judgment men will have to give account for every idle, inoperative, nonworking word they speak.

For by your words you will be justified and acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned and sentenced.

REFRAIN FROM IDLE TALK
Are you one who always likes to flatter someone to gain acceptance or paint that which is black as white, so that the person hearing it will be influenced by your talk? Everyone lies, everyone flatters, and everyone deceives. Nothing but empty talk, smooth talk and double-talk.(Psalm 12:2).

Are you are someone who is always looking for compliments and have “ears that are dying to hear flattering words about yourself?” Are you one who enjoys “meditating and thinking about the flattering words you heard about yourself and are carried away into the clouds” by them? Then here is the Word of God that you need to heed to:

“You will destroy every proud liar who says, ‘We lie all we want. Our words are our weapons, and we won’t be held accountable. Who can stop us?’ May Yahweh cut off their twisted tongues and seal their lying lips. May they all be silenced—those who boast and brag with their high-minded talk” (Psalm 12:3-4).

To seek flattery or to flatter someone for one’s selfish gain is a weakness. Do not always be curious to know what others think about you so that you may glory in it.

Be set free today! Seek to know where you stand with the Lord and let His standards be what you strive for!
