“FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT (CONT’D)”
Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:
“Therefore, as many of us as are mature, let us keep paying attention to this; and if you are differently minded about anything, God will also reveal this to you. Only let our conduct fit the level we have already reached.” (Philippians 3:15-16)
So let all who are fully mature have this same passion, and if anyone is not yet gripped by these desires, God will reveal it to them. Let us all advance together to reach this victory-prize, following one path with one passion.
FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT (CONT’D)
MEEKNESS
As clearly revealed in the life and character of Jesus, the meek is gentle, plain, flexible but solid and frank. The meek is strong, courageous and wise.
A meek Christian is submissive, quiet, kind, soft hearted and patient especially with the weak (Matt 11:29 / 5:5). He will never want to hurt anyone or unnecessarily cause them pain.
TEMPERANCE
This is also referred to as self-control, moderation or self-restraint. Temperance is the outward sign of a well-disciplined life.
Temperance means bringing the triune man, body, soul and spirit under subjection, to do what Jesus wants us to do. That implies the believers’ total personality – mind, emotions and will, are at Christ’s Jesus command (2 Pet 1:6).
Temperance or self-control means mastering one’s desires and passions, including faithfulness in marriage vows.
We as Christians must practice the virtue of the fruit of the Spirit every moment of our lives for God’s glory.
PRAISE GOD FOR THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT
I do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers. For I always pray to the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, that He may grant you a spirit of wisdom and revelation of insight into mysteries and secrets in the deep and intimate knowledge of Him.
By having the eyes of your heart flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich is His glorious inheritance in the saints as His set-apart ones.
May you know and understand what is the immeasurable, unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His own right hand in the heavenly places.
Somebody shout, “PRAISE THE LORD!”
Shalom and good morning.
