A CALL TO PRAYER

Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:

Before they call, I will answer; while they are still speaking, I will hear” (Isaiah 65;24).

And it shall be that before they call, I will answer; and while they are yet speaking, I will hear.

A CALL TO PRAYER
(Jeremiah 33:3 / 1 Thessalonians 5:17)

Right from the beginning, God has always delighted in man praying unto Him (Genesis 4:26). This is the first revival in the Bible.

Prayer is an essential weapon that we must use in fighting the devil and his cohorts.

As Christian’s believers, we must all be totally involved in the ministry of prayer.
Praying ministry must be carried out regularly, consistently and faithfully.

We have much to do in this generation through prayer before the Lord comes, returns. Jesus Christ is our great example in intercession and petition (Luke 22:31-32 / Isaiah 53:12).

How Should Our Prayer Be?

  • Our prayers must be fervent.   (James 5:16)
  • Our prayers must be sincere. (Matthew 6:5)
  • Our prayers must be offered in faith. (Matthew 13:58 / Mark 11:22-24)

A PRAYERLESS LIFE IS EXPOSED TO DANGER
Without faithfully playing our part in the ministry of prayer, we will be exposing ourselves to lots of dangers.

SUCH DANGERS INCLUDE:

  • Lack of favour from man and God (Genesis 32:1-7  / Psalms 30:7)
  • Spiritual blindness (1 Samuel 3:18)
  • Failure in ministry (1 Samuel 13:8-14)
  • Spiritual weakness and backsliding (Luke 21:31-33, 54-62)

  • Falling into the deceit of the devil (1 Samuel 15:21-24)
  • Inability to possess our possession

As we are all getting ready to answer this great call to prevailing prayer, we need to remind ourselves of certain factors that can render our prayers ineffective.

HINDRANCES TO EFFECTIVE PRAYER

  • Sin, guilt, and condemnation in the heart (Psalms 66:18 / 1 John 3:20-22)
  • Discouragement (Numbers 14:1-4)
  • Unbelief and double-mindedness (James 1:6-8 / Matthew 17:19-21)

  • Lack of commitment. For our prayer to be effective, it must not be done in a “hit and miss attitude” (2 Kings 13:15-19).

  • Lack of knowledge of God’s word. (Joshua 1:8)
  • Spiritual dullness and dryness (Proverbs 24:10 / Hebrews 5:11-14).

  • Laziness and procrastination (Ecclesiastes 11:4 / Proverbs 21:25)
  • Slumbering (Proverbs 6:9-11)
  • Worldliness (James 4:4 / Hosea 7:8-9)

GET INVOLVED IN PRAYER, LEST YOU FALL INTO TEMPTATION.

Shalom and good morning.
