“CHRIST JESUS IN THE BOOK OF JEREMIAH (CONT’D)!”
Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:
“Has Gil‘ad exhausted its healing resin? Is there no physician there? If there is, then why is the daughter of my people so slow to recover her health?” (Jeremiah 8:22)
Is there no balm in Gilead? Is there no physician there? Why then is not the health of the daughter of my people restored? Because Zion no longer enjoyed the presence of the Great Physician!
CHRIST IN THE BOOK OF JEREMIAH ( Part 2)
GREAT PHYSCIAN (Jeremiah 8:22)
Gilead was famous for its balsam, which had medicinal properties for treating wounds.
Balm is made from turpentine tree. Jesus is the Balm of Gilead because He heals our sickness and diseases. (1Pet 2:24/Isa 53:5/Matt 8:17)
GOOD SHEPHERD (Jeremiah.23:4/31:10) confirmed (John 10:11,14)
The psalmist declared the Lord’s shepherd-hood also. (Psalms 23:1/79:13/80:1)
Prophet Ezekiel 34:11-17 declares how God deals with His flock:
- He searches and seeks for them.
- He will deliver them.
- He will bring them to the Promised Land.
- He will feed them.
- He will let them lie down in a good fold.
- He will seek for the lost.
- He will judge between them.
Christ is the great Shepherd (Hebrews 13:20-21).
Christ is the chief Shepherd (1 Peter 5:4).
He laid down His life for the sheep. (Matthew 20:28/Mark 10:45)
THE RIGHTEOUS BRANCH (Jeremiah 23:5)
- Christ is the righteous Branch, Messiah King. Because of Jesus, we can dwell in safety.
- We can live without fear.
- We can live without defeat or failure.
- We can live above sin.
- We can live in righteousness/holiness and purity.
Christ’s presence delivers us from destruction, powers of darkness, onslaught of Satan and his hosts.
Christ’s presence brings healing and all sickness vanishes. His presence delivers us from all dangers.
THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS (Jeremiah 23:6)
Christ is coming to reign in righteousness and justice. He will reign over all (Luke 1:31-33/Psalms 97:1-2).
DAVID THE KING (Jeremiah 30:9-11)
Because Jesus is the King, we will not be: Afraid, Dismayed, for He will establish us.
He will provide, Nurture us, Defend us, Protect us, Chastise us and correct us in righteousness for His glory.
THE REDEEMER (Jeremiah 50:34)
Christ Jesus is the redeemer. He possesses all qualities required to redeem us.
He paid all our inherited debts.
He remitted all our sins.
He is strong. The Lord of Hosts is His name. He has given us rest in every aspect of life. He has disquieted our enemies to prove His Lordship over all.
JESUS IS LORD OF ALL! BLESSED BE HIS HOLY NAME!
Everybody shout, “PRAISE THE LORD!”
Shalom and good morning.
