My dearly Beloved in the Lord,
Jesus knows the condition you are in. He knows your inner struggles. He knows what you battle against. He knows your suffering, agony, pain and loss. Nothing is hidden from His eyes or from His knowing.
There was in Jerusalem a pool near the Sheep Gate called Bethesda which had five porches or doorways. In these a number of people lay some crippled, some blind, some paralyzed, with all sorts of conditions-all waiting for something to happen! The bubbling or stirring up of the water in the pool! For the Bible says that at certain appointed seasons the Angel of the Lord went into the pool and stirred up the water and whoever then was first to enter in was healed of whatever disease he/she was afflicted with. John 5:5 tells about a certain man who had suffered with a “deep seated and lingering disorder” for thirty-eight years. That is surely a long, long time for someone to be suffering! Jesus saw him lie there. Can you imagine how every season this poor man must have had a little hope of getting healed but every time before he could reach the water someone else always got there before him! His hope was squashed each time as he returned back with his suffering. How he must have yearned for divine help! How he must have wished that an angel would carry him first into the water to be healed! The bible tells us in vs 6 that Jesus “knew that he had been now a long time in that case (condition).” Jesus knew his disappointed hopes and his yearning to be healed. Jesus said to him, “Do you want to become well?”
The sick man answered Jesus, “Sir, I have nobody when the water is moving to put me into the pool; but while I am trying to come myself, somebody else steps down ahead of me” (vs 7). Instead of answering a “yes” or a “no” he was telling Jesus that he was looking to the pool to be healed. Here was the creator of heaven and earth, the God of the impossible before him and his eyes were elsewhere for his healing. But Jesus knew the depth of the desperate need in his life. He is El Roi the God who sees and the Omniscient God who knows all things. In His compassion Jesus said to him, “Rise, take up thy bed and walk.” And the bible says in vs 9, “And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed and walked…” Healing took place in an instant!
What is your need today? Do you earnestly seek to for an answer or do you let your state be as you have given up all hope? There is nothing hidden from the eyes of the Lord. There is nothing beyond His reach that He cannot do for you. There is nothing impossible for Him to do that your situation cannot be changed. Jesus knows what you are sunk in, what bothers you, what your condition is, what is physically disabling you and whatever your need is. What He asks today is “Do you earnestly want a change, healing, help, answer to your prayer?” In your heart is there a seeking, a desperate yearning for an answer, a cry to be heard? Do not just lie in your hopeless state, thinking that nothing can be done, nor give up on your cause thinking no one can help. Do not sink into the deep mires of self-pity that yours is a ‘gone case’. Jesus is on the throne and He cares about you. He will help you. He will hear you. He will deliver you. He will answer you. Earnestly plead your cause to Him believing He can do it. Seek for an answer from Him fixing your eyes upon Him.
The Lord bless you.
In His love,
