“BIBLICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF A TRUE LEADER” (CONT’D.)
Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:
“But the person who has the Spirit can evaluate everything, while no one is in a position to evaluate him. For who has known the mind of Adonai? Who will counsel him? But we have the mind of the Messiah!” (1 Corinthians 2:15-16)
Those who live in the Spirit are able to carefully evaluate all things, and they are subject to the scrutiny of no one but God. For Who has ever intimately known the mind of the Adonai Yahweh well enough to become His counselor? Christ has, and we possess Christ’s perceptions.
BIBLICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF A TRUE LEADER. (CONT’D.)
Moral Purity
The primary characteristics of a leader’s life is purity. The leader must be pure in the heart and lead a holy life. Christian leaders are not immune to temptations. If you want to lead God’s people effectively, he must maintain moral purity in the power of the Spirit (1 Peter 1:15-16) Be holy for I am holy.
Any sinful habit or questionable behaviour must be discarded (1 Timothy 6:11). Many people including children and teenagers are looking to church leaders for guidance and godly example.
A virtuous life is the platform upon which all of the ministry rest. Leaders must be clean because we are the bearers of God’s vessels (Isaiah 52:11).
Practical Humility (2 Timothy 2:24-26)
A Christian leader is a servant, a servant of God and a leader of the people. Our Lord Jesus Christ was the greatest leader of all times. He is the Lord of all, yet He humbled Himself and took the posture of a servant and even died shamefully on the cross in sacrificial love for us.(Philipp 2:5-8)
Jesus did not consider Himself too good to mix with common people. He touched the leper, He washed the feet of the disciples. A leader must demonstrate the same spirit of Christ today.(Philippians 2:5)
A Christlike attitude of gentleness and the disposition of humility should be exercised in practical service in order to heal the hurts of broken humanity. Christian leaders are not celebrities but they are servants, leading with love and faithfulness.
Let this same attitude, purpose and humble mind be in us which was in Christ Jesus: Let Him be our example in humility.
Everybody shout, “AMEN HALLELUJAH!”
Shalom and good morning.
