In this teaching, we consider the general standard God has set for every ministry. Every ministry must maintain the nature of holiness. It must maintain good works. It must be clothed with humility and submission. It must be full of wisdom. It must be based on the Word of God. It must be ministry that is disciplined. Every ministry must keep the standard of God. Women’s ministry is no exception. It must maintain godly standard and quality for it to be relevant.

Women’s ministries in the Scriptures are grouped into 3 categories, viz., ministry in the home, ministry in the church and ministry to the world. In this teaching, we consider the example of the Shunammite woman who was sensitive to the needs of the man of God. She extended hospitality unselfishly and her household was blessed. We also look at the ministries of Deborah and Miriam who were used of God to impact lives. Deborah was a woman who held three offices. She was a chief military commander, a prophetess and a judge. Women wholly consecrated to God have great potential and abilities which can be tapped to be used for the glory of God. No woman needs to feel subdued. Women of all ages can be used of God to bring glory to His Name.

The Bible abounds with examples of women whom God used to minister to Himself and to others. The woman of Samaria is an example and challenge to all Christian women in the area of ministry. After her encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ, she went back and testified and won many others to the Lord. Mary Magdalene who first saw the Lord after His resurrection began to declare the good news of the resurrection to the weeping and mourning disciples. All women who have met the Lord must be actively involved to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ. As many women as are willing to arise and be instruments of righteousness in the hands of God to bring glory to His Name, the abiding presence of God and the influence of the Holy Spirit will always be with them.

Let’s remember that women are special. Women are special to God. God Almighty used a woman as a holy vessel to bring forth the Saviour, Jesus Christ.
