Part 1
This is a call to thorough examination of our service before God. Is the service we are rendering to God reasonable and acceptable?
The Christian’s reasonable service to God is service based on love, and not compulsion. It is service that is pure and holy, with no trace of bitterness, wrath, malice and hatred. It is service that is not conformed to the world in principle, practice, appearance or methodology. It is service that is not influenced by Satanic and demonic forces.

The Christian’s reasonable service to God is service marked by sobriety. It is service without hypocrisy. It is service with diligence and fervency. There is no slothfulness, no lethargy, no lukewarmness, no half-heartedness. It is service with the right attitude and motive.
The Christian’s reasonable service is service that contains some elements of sacrifice. It is service marked by dedication, consecration and self-denial. It is service that exercises endurance amidst hard circumstances.

Part 2
To serve God acceptably and reasonably, we are to serve Him on His own terms and conditions. We are not to serve Him at our own convenience. God is not interested in convenient service. He does not accept servants of convenience.

To serve God acceptably and reasonably, we are to give Him the best. We are to give Him the firstfruits, and not the leftovers. We are to serve Him sincerely from the heart and not offer Him a polluted or defiled offering.

To serve God acceptably and reasonably, we are to be holy. We are to depart from evil, from things that corrupt or defile us. God accepts nothing less than holiness.

To serve God acceptably and reasonably, we are to give of ourselves to Him first. We are to offer ourselves to Him before we offer our talents, skills, giftings, etc.
