Calvary greetings to you in the blessed name of Jesus Christ our Saviour, Amen!

PUT OFF THE MASK

Life and death in a relationship depends on attitudes.
The ability to accept responsibility is the measure of the man.
Do not smother each other, for no one can grow in the shade.

Ephesians 4:22-24
“That you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts, and be renewed in the spirit of your mind, and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.”

Husbands and wives often have two faces. One face at home and another outside.
At home, they are quarrelling, fighting with each other, scolding each other with vulgarity, scolding children with harsh and bitter words and using threats and unloving words on them. But outside, all these are hidden far beyond the sight of human eyes.
Outside the house or in the public, they pretend to be lovey dovey, but in reality, this is nothing but deception, showcase and pretence.

This attitude is like a mask. Putting on a mask by hiding the real person.
This equals to putting on a show, chasing shadows and neglecting the substance.
The husband and wife must take away the mask from their faces and be real to each other and to their children.

Believers and saints of the Most High God, do not put on a mask.
Be real and genuine and the good Lord will show you mercy.
Be encouraged to take off your mask and discard it in Jesus’ name Amen!

REASONS WHY PEOPLE PUT ON A MASK

Let us examine the reasons why people put on mask.
The true reasons why people put on a mask is actually centered on one word: “self”.
Beloved, do you know that “self” is the ardent enemy of righteousness and godliness.

  • We put on masks because we want to deceive people.
  • We put on masks because we are insecure.
  • We put on masks because we feel inadequate

  • We put on masks because we want to call the shots.
  • We put on masks because we want to prove we possess that which we claim to have but in reality do not have
  • We put on masks because we want to control others and ruin the lives of the innocent.
  • We put on masks because we do not want people to know our true selves.

  • We put on masks because we want to give people false impressions.
  • We put on masks because we do not want to face truth and reality.
  • We put on masks because we cannot face a righteous challenge.
  • We put on masks because we want to exhibit our ignorance in the name of knowledge.

People put on masks because of the fear of losing their self-respect and position.

Many people allow self to rule their lives because of fear of losing their self-made ego.

Often, husbands and wives fail to see the penetrating influence and negative effects of such duplicity in their relation with each other and also with their children. This wicked and dangerous trend of putting on masks may eventually grow to be imbibed into their children.
Their children will then grow in the culture of duplicity and deception.
This culture of double standards will have a shaky, shady and shabby foundation in the life of their children.
This ungodly culture will make the children grow and become social misfits, spiritual destitutes, loveless and hostile children.

To be continued.

Remain blessed and rapturable,

Yours to reach this generation with the Gospel,
Dr. Daniel O. C.
