WOW-10 January 2024: TAKING THE BREAD OF LIFE TO THE FAMISHED
Senior Pastor Daniel O. C. | Jan 10, 2024
Calvary greetings to you in the blessed name of Jesus Christ our Saviour, Amen!
God could have kept Daniel out of the lion’s den but God has never promised to keep us out of hard places.
What He promised is to go with us through every hard place and bring us through victoriously.
Of myself I can only say that I am an unprofitable servant, but I serve a good master.
God often visits us, but most of the time we are not at home.
The natural man, no matter his social level, is in a state of spiritual and physical famine.
The natural man is spiritually famished, starving, ravenous and voracious. (1 Corinthians 2:14) “The natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him, nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”
Sin separated the first man (Adam) from God because he fell and consequently, a curse was placed on him.
This resulted famine, physically and spiritually. But God’s immeasurable and unparalleled love drew a plan of redemption.
God gave a promise of rescue (Genesis 3:15).
The Seed of the woman would bruise the serpent’s head.
Jesus is the Seed of the woman as declared in John 6:32-35.
How to take this bread of life to the famished and the starving should be a matter of grave concern to every disciple of Christ.
1. CHARACTERISTICS AND LIFESTYLE OF THE SPIRITUAL FAMISHED
(Jeremiah 17:9 / Mark 7:21-23 / John 8:34 / Ephesians 4:18)
The spiritually famished is destitute of life and the circumstances surrounding them makes it impossible for them to have access to the source of life. How pathetic!
Characteristics Of The Famished
- Alienation from God and also ignorant of the Life of God (Ephesians 4:18)
- Blindness of heart (Ephesians 4:18)
- Walking and operating in the vanity of their minds (Ephesians 4:18)
- They are preys to negative forces and Satan’s dominion (John 8:34)
- Heart corruption and deceitfulness (Jeremiah 17:9 / Mark 7:21-23)
- Evil thoughts, lust and ungodliness (Genesis 6:5 / John 8:44)
- Obstinacy and rebellion (Romans 8:7 / Isaiah 30:1)
- Servitude to sin and death in sin (John 8:34 / Isaiah 30:1)
- Abominable character and being short of God’s glory (Romans 3:23 / Revelation 21:8)
- Lying tongue (Proverbs 6:16-19)
- A lifestyle marked by worldliness in dressing, deeds and thoughts. (1 John 2:15-16)
- Proud (Proverbs 16:18) Haughty (Isaiah 3:16) Covetous (1 Kings 21:2-7) Outward showmanship (1 Peter 3:3)
To be continued.
Remain blessed and rapturable,
Yours to reach this generation with the Gospel,
