However when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” John 16:13

Dearly Beloved in the Lord,
God has always had us in His mind. The reason God created us is so we would be in fellowship, one with Him. But sin broke it all. Still God provided a way. He raised us His people as a nation, seperated, protected, sheltered and fed us. How would we live? By the given Law. If the Law was broken there was a way. By the shedding of the blood of a lamb, man could receive forgiveness but his sin could not be completely taken away. So God sent us His own Son Jesus to take our place. Once and for all Jesus did it for us. He died but on the third day rose again from the dead. By His death and resurrection the Lord Jesus redeemed, delivered and set us free. Fully. Completely. Forever! Man could be reconciled back to God. Glory Hallelujah! The disciples were happy to see Jesus again but He was going to go away. Jesus promised to send ‘another like Him’ who unlike Him would never leave them. They were to wait in Jerusalem. Thus they waited. On the Day of Pentecost, gathered with one accord in one place, the Bible tells us: “And suddenly, there came a sound from Heaven as of a rushing mighty wind and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and one sat upon each upon them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues…” Acts 2:2-4. The Holy Spirit is our Helper, Comforter, Advocate, Intercessor, Counsellor, Strengthener and Standby. He is the promised One of the Father sent to be with us forever. For us living in this time how can the Holy Spirit be real?
Ephesians 5:18 commands us, “….but be filled with the Spirit…” The words “be filled” is in the present tense in Greek indicating that we can experience and participate in this now. It is not something for only the ministering Christians but for all and it is a command for us all and not an option. The verb is also in the passive voice meaning that being filled is not something that we as Christians can do by ourselves, by our own efforts, but only being submitted and yielded to that which is done for us. It is a command for us to be obeyed continually by being submitted and receiving that which has been done for us. It is important that once we believe on the Lord Jesus and receive the Holy Spirit into our lives, we be filled always, continually so that we are empowered, equipped, enriched and engaged in the matters of the kingdom of God. The Lord be glorified and Jesus be exalted in our lives in Jesus’ mighty and blessed name amen! Are you filled today? If you are not, this simple prayer will help: Father fill me with your Holy Spirit today. I need Your Holy Spirit. I receive Him in Jesus’ name amen. Thank You Father.” Hallelujah amen!

In His love,
Sister Elizabeth Daniel
