“So submit to [the authority of] God. Resist the devil [stand firm against him] and he will flee from you” JAMES 4:7.

Dearly Beloved in the Lord,

As long as we live there will be troubles, sorrows, chaos for the author of confusion, our enemy “…the great dragon, that ancient serpent who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world,” (Revelation 12:9) is always looking to defeat us, to bring fear to our hearts, to cause us to doubt the Lord our God, to distrust our loving Heavenly Father, to stop us from reading the Holy word of God and stop us from believing the truth of the Bible. Unceasingly, endlessly day and night he is accusing us before the Lord. Revelation 12:10 says, “For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who relentlessly accuses them (bringing charges of sinful behaviour) day and night before our God…” In the day when we go about our activities busy and at night when we are sleeping, Satan is all the while busy accusing us. He is a thief and “…has only one thing in mind—he wants to steal, slaughter, and destroy” (John 10:10). Satan is out to destroy our relationship with our Saviour, our fellowship with the Holy Spirit and with one another. The Bible warns us to be vigilant, and always watchful. “Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour” 1 Peter 5:8 and don’t let that be you dear child of God.

You need to stay on your guard; stay covered under the blood; stay in the word; stay in relationship and constant communion with the Lord. James the half brother of Jesus tells us what to do: “So submit yourselves to the one true God and fight against the devil and his schemes. If you do, he will run away in failure. Come close to the one true God, and He will draw close to you. Wash your hands; you have dirtied them in sin. Cleanse your heart, because your mind is split down the middle, your love for God on one side and selfish pursuits on the other” James 4:7-8. Resist the devil! Stand against his evil schemes! Move closer and closer to the Lord. Find reasons and opportunities to thank the Lord, praise Him. Tell the Lord that you appreciate everything around you and the order of your life today. No matter what happens that you believe that He is in control of your life. Spend quality time with the Lord and in His word. Yield yourself completely to the Lord and live in Him daily. In John 10:10 Jesus says, “… I have come to give you everything in abundance, more than you expect – life in its fullness until you overflow.” Live in the fullness of that overflowing life from today!

Praise the Lord that our enemy is defeated by Jesus and once for all silenced. Revelation 12:9-10 tells us of the final end of Satan: “…Satan was cast down to the earth along with his messengers ….has been cast down and silenced.” “—cast out once and for all!” Hallelujah!
