“RUN THE RACE OF FAITH WITH ENDURANCE UNTO VICTORY”
Saints of God Most High, hear God’s word for you today:
“So then, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us, too, put aside every impediment — that is, the sin which easily hampers our forward movement — and keep running with endurance in the contest set before us” (Hebrews 12:1).
Therefore then, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses who have borne testimony to the Truth, let us strip off and throw aside every encumbrance, unnecessary weight and that sin which so readily deftly and cleverly clings to and entangles us, and let us run with patient endurance and steady and active persistence the appointed course of the race that is set before us,
Notice that the verse mentions that we are “surrounded by so great cloud of witnesses” which means we are encircled by great witnesses of biblical examples.
The bible is replete with good examples of people who stood in faith and endured difficulties in order to fulfill the will of God.
We are encircled on every side with powerful and enduring examples of people whose faith were challenged, yet they held on to the truth of God’s word.
WE ARE NOT ALONE AT ALL
Let us consider the following saints:
Noah, the ark builder, who lived in a desperately corrupt age. In the midst of the moral darkness of his time, Noah’s life was radiant with righteousness (Genesis 6:8-9).
Abraham, the father of the new spiritual race followed the Lord his God in obedience (Romans 4:17-24).
Sarah, the mother of nations, believed that God is able to fulfill his promises.
Jacob who emerged at last upon the plane of triumphant faith. A cheat who became a prince.
Joseph whose dream of exaltation nearly brought his untimely death still he endured till the end.
Moses, drawn out, used by God like the Christ of the Old Testament. He endured.
Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, David, Samuel and all other prophets – they all fought their respective battles and endured. These saints embedded the word of God into their hearts and refused to be deterred until they saw the fulfillment of God’s promises.
They all faced hardship, challenges and difficulties of their time but they took all their obstacles as a golden opportunity for God to act on their behalf.
There are many people around us today, who are good examples for us. These exemplary people are holding on to God regardless of what they go through in their lives.
These are those, we call “Never-give-up” saints. Won’t you learn to resist the devil, resist your doubt and stick on to God? Saints, you are not alone and we are never alone for the good Lord is with us.
Do not let the devil convince you that you are the only one who ever faces the kind of situation that you are in now.
Remember, many have gone through the same battles like yours and won victories.
Our battles are not worse than what they went through. We must not give up, neither quit nor throw in the towel.
Remember your past victories; remember the source of your past victories and who sustained you in the past victories. Jesus is the same today (Hebrews 13:8)! Hallelujah! We are not alone!
YOU ARE NOT ALONE AND WILL NEVER BE ALONE IN JESUS’ MIGHTY NAME, AMEN!
Shout a loud, “AMEN & AMEN,” somebody!
Sabbath shalom and good morning.
