The soul that enjoys God takes Christianity from religion and ritualism to revelation of the truth of God. This teaching takes you to Matt. 6 to look at three areas in which righteousness ought to be practised, viz., almsgiving, prayer and fasting. By overt display, the hypocrites or Pharisees who did not enjoy God perverted true worship and turned it into an effort to show people how much they could do in public. In the aforementioned three areas, they did what they did to gain man’s approval. The soul that enjoys God, however, has a different motivation.
