Part 1
We are not to be Christians in name and not reflect Christ in our thoughts, words, deeds, ways and relationships. The Word of God exhorts us to be examples to the believers. We are to live our lives such that others can see Christ in us, and thank God for our lives.

This teaching takes you to the book of 1Timothy to look at how we can be an example to the believers. To be an example to the believers, we are to guard the doctrine we have received from the Lord Jesus Christ. We must have a pure heart and a good conscience. We must be faithful to do what God has called us to do. We are to fight a good fight of faith. We must learn how to pray and give thanks for all men. We are to be an example in our conduct. We are to exercise ourselves toward godliness. We must labour and suffer reproach for Christ. We must give attention to reading and meditation of the Word. We must be just to all classes of people. We have to maintain purity. We have to pursue righteousness. We are to be content with what we have in life. We are to avoid greed and covetousness. We are to live a blameless life and be truthful to all.

Part 2
In this teaching, we consider the lives of our Lord Jesus Christ and the Apostle Paul for an example in Christian living.

Our Lord Jesus Christ is our greatest example. This teaching brings out many things that He did which are to be our examples in all that we are doing in life today. We are to allow the nature of Christ to be manifested in every aspect of our Christian walk. Jesus brings the presence of God wherever He goes. His presence in every situation makes a difference. Likewise, we are to carry His presence wherever we go so that whoever comes in contact with us will be blessed. We are to totally represent Christ so that those who draw close to us will see Christ in us and be changed and impacted to live for God and God alone. The Apostle Paul also lived a life worthy of emulation. He was a man like you and me. He wasn’t conceived by the power of the Holy Ghost, yet he lived his life for an example so that he could declare in 1 Corinthians 11:1, ‘Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ.’ Learn from his Christian walk and let the example he set challenge you to live your life so that you, too, can say to the believers, ‘Imitate me, just as I also imitate Christ’.

This teaching also covers 6 areas we should pay attention to if we are to be an example to the believers, viz., in word, in conduct, in love, in spirit, in faith, and in purity.
